Kia orana, day 10 now I have learnt a lot about sailing on the vaka. It’s a good experience for me as a first time long distance sailor. I also learnt how to steer the vaka on the right course by looking at the stars at night and also the sun. We’re all doing good on the vaka. I don’t really spend time on deck in the afternoon because it’s too hot sometimes LOL. On my watch I got Zeb as my watch captain and Tutere, Moana from Mauke and Papa Tuaine from Mitiaro.

Rest time is important to all of us because we all need to be 100% on the ‘oe. I am enjoying myself on the vaka getting along with the crew. We’re also having delicious meals on the vaka. 2 days ago we caught two tuna. I spend time with our captain Peia Patai, he talks a lot about his past how he sailed around the world and teaching people about sailing on the vaka. I am looking forward to get to Hawai’i to have that fresh water shower lol. Lastly I want to let my family back home know that I’m doing good on the vaka. Kia orana e kia manuia.
